Strikes and gutters, ups and downs
When my children were small, their world was simple. Arguments over game controllers or who gets the last cookie are easily solvable. Now that they are in their twenties, their problems are more complex. Whilst I can encourage from the sidelines, I can’t relate to what they’re going through. My biggest problem was whether I could rock a crimped mullet or where to score some bitchin’ new leg warmers!

All of my children are in various stages of fleeing the nest, and for me letting go has been painful. When they were small, I had complete control of their lives. I could protect them. Now that they’re grown, I have zero control, and my fears have all taken centre stage.
