She never thought life would look like this. After everything after the battles, the heartbreak, the long nights spent wondering if she'd ever feel whole again here she is. Standing in the middle of her best damn chapter yet.
The kids are grown now, living their own lives, finding their own way. And she’s proud, SO fucking proud. But for the first time in years, it’s not about just being a mother, a fighter, a provider.
Now, it’s about her.

And Leo.
Kobe, Leo.

The way he touches her lower back when he walks by. The way he makes her laugh when she’s trying to be mad. The way he listens even to the things she doesn’t say. With Leo, she doesn’t have to pretend to be strong all the time. She can be soft, raw, vulnerable. And he holds that part of her like it’s sacred.

Their nights are wild and their mornings are slow. Coffee in bed, messy hair, no makeup, sunlight slipping through the blinds as he kisses her bare shoulder like it’s his favorite place on earth. She loves his stories, his stupid jokes, the way he looks at her like she’s a goddamn miracle. He makes her feel seen. Wanted. Worshipped.

And yeah, winning gold at the volleyball tournament was unreal. The rush, the pride, standing on that podium with her team. Nothing compares to that kind of victory.

Except maybe Leo.

He’s the unexpected win. The kind you don’t train for. The kind that just happens when you’re finally ready to let go of the past and let something real in.
But there’s one thing needs to say, out loud even if it’s just into the wind.

“Sorry, Ben. I loved you. I really did. But Leo… Leo was and is the true love of my life.”

It’s not regret. It’s honesty. And it’s peace.
She’s in it—heart open, soul bare, and finally, free.
