life’s been hectic lately, so many good things happening all at once.
my team, shanghai, is playing in the world cup and we’re doing great. i had high hopes we’d be champions, but even if we don’t, the experience has been totally worth it.
after all, it’s not every day your team wins by 10–0 — and, unbelievably, not by WO.
but what really warmed my heart this week was my daughter, sadie, turning 16! i know it sounds super cliché, but time really flies way too fast. kobe, let my little girl be a kid again. *sobs*
i’ve had many adopted kids before, even though i was still pretty young myself — almost their age, actually — but hey, that’s never been weird around here, right?
i love my whole family, whether by blood or by heart, but sadie’s the youngest, and i let myself be a more present mom even while touring with the band when she was a kiddo.
i did my best raising her, messed up a few times, got a lot of things right too. she’s been my little sidekick since she was a baby, and now, seeing her become her own person, independent and grown, it just hits hard.
seems like the only baby i’ve got left to take care of now is miau zedong.
time, please, slow down a little.
