the streets were filling up with red and blue lights as victoria felt encircled by the deafening sirens. on the run with a bag full of diamonds weighing her down, she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the glass. z and her brother had already split, leaving her behind with a rich hue of violet; she never thought that even police lights could be that poetic. the missing ingredient was, as always, the glowing full moon.
"why did i smoke all that shit now," victoria thought, regretting her companionship with his excellency, major tom, while trying to catch her breath for a nanosecond. but her so-called 'heist ritual', which had to conclude with a festive smoke-till-you-pass-out session at the safe house, was unlikely to change anytime soon.
as the footsteps were closing in, victoria grabbed two handfuls of diamonds from the bag and stuffed her pockets. "so long, pigs," she giggled as she dumped the rest of them down the drain before she made a run for it. greed and recklessness could not coexist in the underworld -- what you do with your personal business, now that's a whole other story.
the rest was easy, even amusing, it was another kind of high that only lightness brings. she ran, she hid, then she ran some more. she 'forgot' to ring z or rené (rattling them was her love language), but still made sure to smile for the cctv.
