My own runway show

I still can’t believe tonight actually happened. My own runway show — real lights, real models, real people clapping. For a few seconds before it started, I thought I might throw up from nerves, but then the music began and everything just… flowed. The fabrics I’d worked on for weeks finally moved the way I imagined them — soft silks that caught the light, silhouettes that held their shape.

The best part was seeing dad, Forest and my brothers in the crowd. Dad had that quiet smile he always gets when he’s trying not to tear up, and Forest was waving like he was at a concert. It made me laugh, right there behind the curtain.

I think it hit me then that I’m really doing this — not just dreaming about designing clothes, but actually creating something that exists in the world.

Afterwards, when everyone was talking and taking pictures, I stepped aside for a moment just to breathe. The stage lights had dimmed, the last notes of the music still echoing in my head. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was exactly where I’m supposed to be.
