Sweet little angel, you should have run

Dating apps were always a bit of a mystery to Viola. Something she hovered around but never really stepped into. And that night, without thinking too much, she started talking. Just a few strangers. No big deal. Maybe her mind palace still had some empty rooms left…for lessons yet to be learned. For certain scenes, perhaps…the kind that give little and take too much, leaving behind a familiar aftertaste of regret the next day.

Letting go of the past had taken effort. Maybe too much. It had been a while since she’d been in a place where she wasn’t the one deciding everything. A long time since she’d felt so small…on her knees..in a good way. Safe, in the kind of danger she secretly missed.

Still, it wasn’t enough. She needed something to bring that light back into her eyes. The secret ingredient. Just one line. Something she kept saying, too quietly and too loudly
