Stanford Manor New Year's Eve - Red Party

It was a typical day for Katerella. Sweeping cinders, scrubbing floors, peeling potatoes, washing ballgowns and hanging them out to dry... always accompanied by the ever inquisitive rodents and birdlife who were magnetically drawn to her humble, caring and positive personality.

Katerella high-fived a mouse and leapt from the hearth when the doorbell rang. Visitors were rare, usually scared off by the evil step mother and step sisters. Skipping down the dark hallways, Katerella reached the door and pulled on the heavy handle. Using all her strength, the door opened with a long groan of rusted hinges.

A messenger stood at the door, wearing the finest red and gold livery of The Standford Manor. He held out a red velvet pillow, upon which a gold edged invitation sat.

"You are hereby cordially invited to the New Year's Eve Red Party at Stanford Manor."

Katerella felt a wave of emotions - excitement, intrigue, confusion... and fear.
She remembered the Halloween event fondly. It was etched in her mind. So much fun. So many people. So much explaining to do when the evil stepmother caught her sneaking back in at midnight.

Could she manage to sneak out again for the New Year's Party? Would her evil stepmother allow her to attend? Would she be banished to the cellar to do an inventory on their coal supplies? How many mice skins would it take to make a fur coat?

She blinked away all those thoughts, snuck into the evil stepmother's bedroom, pilfered the credit card from her bedside table, called for an uber and fled.

Time for some dress shopping.



Nothing was going to stop Katerella from attending THIS ball!
