Oh joy of joys! What a heavenly vehicle! Bright and shiny under a layer of fresh wax, zooming along the motorways.
OK, it was only a Morris Minor van. And it was 20 years old and secondhand. And it hardly had enough space to hold my instruments and stuff.
But it was my first, very own car. And I lavished lots of love and elbow-grease on that van. I spent many a happy year touring in it. And its backseat doubled up as a couch when I was too tired to find a hotel.
I still miss those carefree days and look longingly at the showroom of the dealership where I had traded it in when I needed a bigger bus.
