Bitter Reflections on Today's Music Market

Heavy Metal is the raw fury of soul-rending riffs and thunder-like drums. But now, here I am, being pushed into something I never wanted. Nu Metal. 🤢🤢

The media says it's "the future", that "this is what sells", that "fans want innovation". But since when are electronic beats and forced rhymes innovation? Since when can the weight of a riff be replaced by synthesizers and sugary choruses? That's not what I got into the game for.

But the journalists in the specialized media don't care about what I want. They see numbers, statistics, trends. And me? I'm just another name on a contract, forced to chew on this new wave and pretend to like it. There's no escape. Either I bend, or I get swallowed up by the avalanche of generic bands that appear every day.

The truth is that it eats away at me. I could simply say "no", maintain my integrity. But, in the end, without a new album, there's no tour. Without a tour, there is no stage. And without a stage... well, without a stage, I don't exist.

Maybe I can make this acceptable. Maybe I can squeeze some real weight into this plasticized production. Or maybe I just need to swallow my pride, close my eyes, and count the days until I can make real music again.

But one thing is for sure: when this phase is over, the world will remember why Metal never needed to follow trends. And I'll be there to prove it. 🤘
