it's not a one-night stand if it turns into two.

There’s something cruel about good lighting, because even though it's usually what people will aim for, it forgives nothing; not the dark shadows under your eyes, nor the hesitation behind your smile.

The camera never lies, because it simply has no reason to and more often than not, the people in front of it are the first ones to forget.
So when the light hits just right, the smirk before the lie, as well as the glance that lingers for just a few seconds too long, can hardly be hidden.

It's confusing and fascinating at the same time.

But maybe sometimes life is just about that: chasing that one spark that refuses to fade, even when the picture is completely out of focus.

"Oh, are you finally going to submit something again? It's really been ages.", the female voice cut through the silence of the living room, followed by paper rustling as she picked up the pages that had been scattered across his desk.

As usual Chiharu couldn't sit still while he was preparing dinner for the both of them and for a moment he watched her from his place behind the counter, first scanning the texts, then the collection of photos pinned to the wall in search of new ones. There was always something new to see.

Instead of replying, Kazuya only hummed though.
He wasn't exactly a writer and had always been better at expressing himself through pictures, but sometimes he indeed still did. It happened in bits and pieces, whenever his mind got too busy and needed some sorting and he rarely made any promises.

Putting away the knife, he wiped the counter top and made sure to stir what he had added to the pot earlier.

"Mhm... Maybe."
