Cheese, Costumes & Cannabis (A Very Wholesome Weekend)

Hello, universe — Dr. Joke reporting from the intersection of science, art and mild chaos.

This week I left my beloved lab and went on a tiny pilgrimage to visit some of the big crafters, artists and “farmers” of our little world. If you ever want to feel both inspired and embarrassingly clumsy at the same time, try learning how to make cheese, sew costumes, grow cannabis and roll a decent joint in just a few days.

First stop: cheese. Watching real cheesemakers at work was like seeing edible biochemistry. Bacteria, enzymes, controlled aging… honestly, it’s just a delicious lab experiment that squeaks when you bite it.

Then came the costume workshop, where I learned that a sewing machine is basically a tiny, angry robot that only respects confidence. I brought the creativity; the machine brought the drama.

On the green side of life, I compared notes with actual grow wizards and joint artists. My spreadsheets met their experience, and somewhere in between those two extremes, real knowledge happened.

Special thanks (and big, squishy gratitude) to Johannes, Amy and Ella — you three were pure inspiration, endless patience and a beautiful reminder that “handmade” is just another word for “made with love and a bit of chaos.”

Back to the lab now. I’ve got cultures to grow, dough to knead, and about six new projects I’m totally not starting all at once.
