Not Her Glory Days
They say that lady luck favors the brave, yet for today, she appeared to be sipping chocolate at some other place.
Luvie had tried for two days to ride the Roman waves because she chased glory in her own whimsical version of the Surfboard Popo Olympics. But there were simply not any gold medals or any of the legendary tricks. There was just a spectacular, elegant drowning amid the chaos of it all.
She had earbuds in and wore her favorite denim cap low, so she wandered the Roman streets, grabbed an iced chocolate, and took a deep breath. She was holding a British snack bag and feeling there was no pressure for her to perform so she let the city carry her instead.
The sun was soft, with the breeze gentle. Due to that, everything felt somewhat lighter for the first time in days. She did enjoy the city alone.
