Here I am, yet again, standing before the mirror of my soul, attempting to translate this chaotic, burning yearning into mere mortal words. You know I am a Goddess of Language, a Maestro of Metaphor! Yet, when this ridiculous Hummingbird heart misses you so intensely, my vocabulary shrinks to a pathetic whisper: I MISS YOU!
I often imagine a giant, glittery, cosmic PAUSE BUTTON descending from the heavens. Oh, my love! If only I could press it! We would halt this entire, relentless symphony of deadlines and spotlights! We would run away, hide in some beautifully dramatic cave, and spend a thousand years in perfect, scandalous peace, just us and our glorious, growing family.
Wouldn't that be a dazzling drama? We would be the Orpheus and Eurydice of our modern, slightly-deranged era!
Except—and note this well, my Maestro—there would be no looking back! I wouldn't let you turn around! I have absolute, magnificent faith that my baby gentleman, my handsome, evil Genius, would follow me out of the Underworld (or this dreadful schedule!) without a single flicker of doubt.
