Beauty, Babies, and the Blame Game (with Love, of course!)

Oh, my dears, as the grand overture to new life approaches—yes, a baby girl is fluttering her way in!—my mind is awash with the most wonderfully crazy questions! Last night, after the show, I found myself staring in the mirror, lamenting my two (two!) pre- BigBang plastic surgeries. Clearly, they aren't enough anymore. I even brought this grave matter to my magnificent husband and my only baby brother, Jericho, and what did they do? Both simply shrugged their broad shoulders and declared, with infuriating sweetness, "You are beautiful no matter what, Zeze."
Honestly, how can a hummingbird with a saggy belly and eyelids that threaten to droop past her very wings be called beautiful? It's a cosmic conundrum!
So, I've been silently calling out to the little goddess in my belly: My precious one, when you make your grand entrance, please, touch me with your magic baby hands! Work your tiny miracles, darling, right here on your slightly deflated mama!
And why, oh why, is a hummingbird, a creature of boundless grace, suddenly terrified of leaning? I've found it! The answer, my dears, struck me like a lightning bolt during a particularly energetic flamenco practice: My husband simply isn't showering me with enough attention!
Hey, you handsome, beautiful baby, my singular badness, my magnificent Evil! You are the very orchestrator of these new worries, do you hear me? Your presence is clearly so overwhelming, so utterly captivating, that it has thrown my entire equilibrium (and my skincare routine) into delightful disarray! Now, come here and fix it!
