Never in a million years did I imagine I would find you.

You appeared when I least expected and turned my whole life upside down. I also got a bruise on my leg from bumping into your table and dropping all your books, but that one healed pretty quickly. I was already pretty beaten up that day, anyway, wasn’t I?

You left another mark, though. One you can’t really see, but I feel it right in the middle of my chest. You changed me and my heart forever, Nixie.

You showed me love when I thought there was none. Understanding and patience when I didn’t believe I deserved it. You gave me confidence and courage when I stopped believing in myself and what I had to offer. You, my love, pulled me out of the shell I had used as a hiding spot to protect myself, and you protected me fiercely ever since.

You give me the valor and confidence to be standing here today, next to you, with a judge who has no idea the beautiful hell they’re about to unleash upon this unsuspecting world.

Thank you, my love, my Nixie, for showing me what unconditional love looks and feels like. I can only hope to be able to repay the feeling for the rest of my days.
