Smiles and rings and her
LA was where their story began, where fate dealt its hand. The city where their paths first crossed and that one late night conversation turned into something deeper. Now, as they stood on the edge of forever, it felt only right that this city would be the backdrop to their new beginning, where they left behind the "I" and stepped boldly into the "we."
"You done being a wreck now?" Zoey asked, stepping back, hands on her hips.
He swallowed, adjusting his tie. "Almost."
"Hands off, you're making it worse." She knocked his fingers away, fixing the buttons, adjusting the collar, pulling his tie into place. "I refuse to let you walk down that aisle looking like a damn mess."
He had always pictured getting married as something simple, just an inevitable step forward, slipping into a river and letting the current carry him. But there were a million little details to consider, a thousand tiny voices pulling him in different directions. What had once felt like an easy, joyful leap now felt more like a high-wire act, balancing excitement and anxiety, love and logistics, dreams and reality, all while trying not to lose sight of why he wanted to do this in the first place.
But as soon as he saw her, in that moment, truly, he felt like the happiest man alive. Even at his ugliest, even at his brightest, she always gives him hope and strength and helps him become a better version of himself. The love of his life and source of all his strength, his best friend is now his wife.
