This feels very strange. The last three weddings I attended were all family events, so I knew everyone there and was the one looking for a plus-one. Now, all of a sudden, I’m the plus-one - and I only know five other people here.
And my date for the wedding isn’t helping at all. He gave me a heads-up that he’ll be a pain in my butt today. I guess the moral of the story is: careful what you wish for.
My only hope now is that seeing me in this sparkly dress will leave him speechless for at least a moment or two.
