sick mama surf school was going; well and interestingly. that magic fifteen week mark that she often hit the glowy preggo stage was still five weeks off but luckily the ocean was one big phone, right? tmi. waves did nothing, but if she waited a bit longer, she’d have a belly and then everything always felt off balance and she herself turned into a pretty mediocre gurfer, it really was a bit unfair being a girl sometimes. no, Flowers start surfing at three, can’t change that now; and if she waited til this baby was born, the pandas would probably be almost four! Storm was having a blast, but her listening ears were not always on, so most of her lessons were spent being rescued, and Star was nervous, getting mad with Stormie for not listening, and mad with herself for every wipe out; the first hour was a bit of a shit show really, but after some snacks and a moment of composure on the beach they got back at it and everyone did okay. just okay. O felt bad they hadn’t spent more time by the water by now, they weren’t as friendly with the ocean as some of her kids were at this age, but thinking leads to more thinking so she tried not to dwell too much, as the days on the beach went on, Luckie took them all by surprise and waded in away from Smoky who went back to the house eventually because normal people don’t spend this much time on the beach, and once on his mama’s board, Luc showed more skill than any of her kids ever did despite being only 20 months, O was shook, the girls pretty miffed, but..more snacks soothed their Flower fury. nobody can stay mad at a boy so cute for long, little charmer. Jassy was a great surf school assistant, but picked painting back at the towels every chance she got. this was nice, Valentine’s with her greatest loves. time. this was how it was supposed to be. perhaps how she always wanted it to be…
