Niele swept her brush across the canvas with a smile that was unlike any other; so bright - as if it were competing with the very stars twinkling in her eyes.
It had all began with a dizziness.
Something she had dismissed, putting it down to the various trips she and Levi had taken between New York and Paris. The former would always be home, but Paris pulsed in Niele's veins, calling her with an intensity that grew as she tried to decide the location for her first exhibition.
Then there was Levi's business dealings with Art that kept drawing them back to Monaco, where Niele and Levi had taken off on the riviera and fallen head over heels with Villefranche-sur-Mer. Levi only needed to look at Niele's eyes to know this would be the place.
Not only for an exhibition but a home. And as she buzzed around the studio of that new home, a wave of nausea washed over Niele one morning, the kind she had never experienced before.
Thus began the morning sickness.
"It's just a bug" Niele reassured her beloved, for she had been genuinely convinced that her petite frame was simply adjusting to a new place. But it was when she became queasy at the sight of her favourite dessert, that Niele, paused, her heart aflutter.
Could it be..
With Levi out with Art, she hurriedly grabbed a test, and watched with bated breath as the lines materialized.
'Two'.
Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks as Niele instinctively cradled her belly that was now home to a miracle.
One that she couldn't wait to share with her beloved as she added the final touches to her painting that evening, just before Levi would come home - lacing her fingers with his leading him to her studio, unveiling her most emotional piece yet; as she watched for his reaction;
