"Quédatelo, quiero que lo tengas." Me dijo mamá mientras colocaba en mi puño un anillo y me lo cerraba. "Si te apetece... si te apetece, llévalo." Y así lo hice: ahora adorna mi mano, y aunque solo conozco su cara gracias a los fotos, sé que de algún modo le gustaría que le llevase conmigo.
Me pregunto qué me diría en este momento, si querría que siguiese sus pasos, si estaba siendo tonta esperando cosas que no iban a pasar, si debería seguir buscando mi camino. Si debo darle voz a ese corazoncito que me late en el pecho.

And so I did: now it adorns my hand, and although I only know his face from photos, I know that somehow he would like me to carry him with me.
I wonder what he would tell me in this moment, whether he would want me to follow his footsteps, whether I was being foolish waiting for things that would never happen, whether I should keep searching for my own path.
Whether I should give a voice to that little heart beating in my chest.
