Kyra surprised me with the most beautiful box filled with goodies from their +simple range, a line focused on pure, all-natural skincare.

The camera shutter clicked for what had to be the thousandth time, and Summer shifted her pose just enough to look effortless—despite the fact that she’d been doing it for an hour and her left leg was starting to go numb. Her phone lit up on the makeup table again, screen flashing Dad for the third time, and she ignored it with the same determination she’d once used to avoid 8 a.m. lectures. She wasn’t exactly looking forward to that conversation.

Still, she knew she couldn’t dodge him forever. But she could dodge him for at least twenty more minutes—because if she didn’t finish this shoot, she wasn’t paying rent. Living alone wasn’t cheap, and living alone with an “almost roommate” situation brewing meant she needed this paycheck more than ever. She had no doubt her dad already knew. The man received notifications for everything—bank transfers, flight delays, probably even her heart rate if he could figure out how to sync it. Summer was pretty sure the alert about her London campaign had popped up on his phone before she’d even finished slipping into the first outfit. But that was a problem for later Summer.
