Lately, me and my soon to be wife been caught up in the beautiful chaos of wedding preparations. Building a home with the kids, trying to find and complete what’s missing in the house and making sure everyone is happy... it’s the kind of exhaustion that feels sweet at the end of the day once you are relaxing at couch.

To be brutally honest, I’m not stressed about the wedding itself. Not stressed at all. Why? Everything is going the way I want, exactly how it should. I'm with the love of my life; we managed to book the place she dreamt about... Still, I can’t help but share my fiancée’s worries. After all, I promised her she would never be alone. So to keep that promise, even her smallest fears become mine too. Does this hairpin look good? Will it rain? Will the flowers arrive on time… what about the food?

At the same time, I feel the need to take care of her every little need. Because she’s carrying a piece of us inside her... our tiny little cutie pie. I’m incredibly excited and all but there’s also an unspoken truth.. -hidden from the wifey- our kitchen expenses have been… steadily increasing for obvious reasons. I find myself filling the fridge with everything imaginable (and unimaginable), buying pickles I didn’t even know existed, and so much more.

One thing I’ve recently learned works surprisingly well is putting sweet and salty treats side by side. My bride’s cravings are always like that... strawberry tart and pickles, baklava and ayran, Nutella and pickles. Sometimes I worry she might love pickles more than me… but then I remember; she still falls asleep next to me at night. So, sorry dear pickles… you lost! mwahahaha.
