Wow. I still have a blog, don't I?
The recent silence wasn't intentional. It was simply a very committed series of events, clearly coordinated by the universe with a clipboard and far too much free time.
Somewhere along the way, we quietly crossed the halfway mark of the tour. No fireworks, no emotional speeches. Just the realisation that we've been doing this long enough for exhaustion to feel familiar, almost affectionate. Natsukashii, in a strange way.
Then something unexpected happened. A message arrived from a girl who looked far too young, far too sweet, and far too calm for someone asking if she could possibly be our drummer. I stared at the screen for a solid minute, convinced it was either a prank or the beginning of a very elaborate social experiment.
It was neither.
Saki, naturally, adored her immediately. With interest. Romantic interest. I noticed. We all noticed. She didn't even try to hide it, which was almost impressive.
As for me, I find myself in unfamiliar territory. I seem to be developing feelings. Proper ones. Soft, inconvenient, quietly beautiful feelings. I won't elaborate. I refuse to elaborate. Let's call it a private shōgyō mujō situation and move on before I get uncomfortable.
What I can say is that we're incredibly proud to introduce Raven as our new drummer. Watching her step into this chaos with such calm precision has been...reassuring. Brave, even. I do hope she isn't too alarmed by our fondness for distortion, down-tuned guitars, and riffs so dense they could probably be used as building material.
Our music remains loud, low, and unapologetically heavy. The guitars and bass live somewhere near the earth's core. This is not going to change. Raven, if you're reading this, sumimasen in advance.
I think I'm finding my balance again. Or at least a version of it that works on the road.
