Nate felt like a piece of him was missing. When he had got nabbed by the police, they had seized everything he had on him. Including his surf board. Which then got flagged as belonging to someone else and just like that it was gone.

The board had been a gift and in many ways it had saved him. When he had received it he had been adrift and learning to surf, embracing the beach life, ut had given him a new purpose and actual sense of identity. Then just like that it was gone. When he finally got out of prison it was without his Sex Kitten. He had got everything else back but she was gone.

There was no one waiting for him when he got out, and why should there be, when you lived like he did you didn't tend to make lasting impressions on people. He didn't know what to do, what he wanted, nothing felt right anymore. Maybe it was time to reinvent himself again, or maybe he needed to just sleep.

Whatever he decided, he felt like he needed to get away from London for a while.
