Sadie is a young, confused and heartbroken girl who's trying to pick up the pieces of her life.
She lost her older brother when she was 12, and since then her parents aren't the same. Her father's always out of town cos' of his work, her mother's so focused on her grief that doesn't pay attention to her daughter, who's suffering as well and doesn't know how to face that pain.
After her brother's death she got closer to a friend of hers: Cathy. They did everything together, every experience, getting often in trouble. Before she realized it, their friendship turned into something else. Something deeper. They fell in love. Or at least Sadie thought so.
When she was 15, Cathy left her cos' her parents had to move to Chicago and she felt like a long-distance thing couldn't work. But to her it was just an excuse to break up with her.
Her heart was bleeding. Again.
She promised to herself not to fall in love again and, in a moment of anger, shaved her head like a boy.
