Charles was born in London. His father died when He was very young.
A few years later his mother died from some unknown sickness and having no other family ties Charles was placed in the childcare system.
As young child he had been loved and cared for, but the loss he suffered had scarred him deeply.
And the system didn't help him to heal.
He was handed from one foster family to the next with stops in between at the locale orphanage.
The older he got, the more difficult it seemed to find willing foster families.
The idea of adoption had died alreadyd when he had reached 12.
Charles learned early on that he was more or less a burden to those, who were supposed to take care of him.
So he tried to become helpful. In his eagerness to please and help, he often would do too much and the forster family would give him back, because they couldn't deal with him.
