Raised in London’s high society under the shadow of his media star mother, John Stern spent his youth chasing thrill over consequence. Back-alley deals, illicit work… until one night, when a job went wrong and he looked straight into death’s cold face. Since then, he has crossed borders and oceans in search of something he cannot name.
The curl of smoke from a cigarette, the trusting eyes of stray dogs, and the rare peace of silence are his quiet refuges. He avoids loud, graceless crowds; he loves cities most at night, heavy with the scent of rain and neon.
