January 2006 - Amsterdam shakes the planet with a festival of noise so huge it takes FOUR clubs to host it! The Rock Hard AMD - World Championship of Rock will feature one hundred twenty bands cranking out the earth shattering sounds of Modern Rock, Punk Rock, Heavy Metal and Electronica.
Hosting heavy metal is club amsterdamned, Electronica sizzles at The Cat's Meow, modern rock pulses at the legendary Fantumi~A, and the sounds of punk anarchy reign at JailBait Eaters.
And to top it all off? It's a competition for the four clubs as well! The club owners - Paula de Beer, John Ryan, Gladys Swancutt and Christian Tranhult - have a side bet going on who will sell the most tickets for the shows in competition. At stake besides some vanity and pride? A $10,000 stake from each owner...
Miss de Beer is also offering a $25,000 prize to the top band of all four competitions (details to come)
