I lived a quiet, some might even say sleepy, life for years. My ambitions had long slipped into the background, and the days drifted by in peaceful monotony, filled with scribbling awful poetry, until…

I wouldn’t call it being struck by lightning; it was slower than that, unfolding long before I realised it. Little by little, I noticed my thoughts circling around someone. I caught myself smiling for no reason, drifting into daydreams, singing off-key to ridiculous songs. Even my dreams had changed. What happened? I can’t pinpoint the moment. Maybe it was just a glance, a quiet pause, a stolen smile, a laugh that lit up the room. I didn’t recognise the feeling at first, I had forgotten what it was like. But there it was again, subtle yet startling: that pull, that spark.



Life feels bright again. Freedom calls, creativity stirs. And above all, there’s her, the girl I can’t stop thinking about, the one I want to share my days with. It isn’t just her beauty, though she truly is stunning. It’s everything else: her grace (an old-fashioned word, but perfect for her), her elegance, her kindness and gentle confidence, her intelligence and humour, even her insecurities. Okay, I’ll stop now 😉 This is what happens when you start falling in….. She’s not a saint, thank Kobe, but she’s the most genuine, wonderful woman I’ve ever met.

Today, we took a big step, one we both knew we needed to take. It doesn’t erase the past, that will always be part of me. This step marks the beginning of something new and beautiful: our journey, together. Damn, I feel so much alive, I feel brand new!
